Shawn Wilhite

The Ladyship

Shawn is back in Muscle Shoals, AL where she grew up working on a new recording project with guitarist and arranger Stan Lee. They discovered through a mutual friend that they both loved Brazilian music and have begun working on tunes for the album.

In 2009 at her sophomore CD Release party in Manhattan for ‘Sunflower Cafe’ Shawn performed ‘Wave’ from her debut album and said that she would be manifesting a trip to Brazil. One year later she attended Souza Lima Conservatory, a satellite school of Berklee College of Music in Sao Paulo for a Master Class. There she learned more about Brazilian composer Victor Villa Lobos and other great music with amazing harmonies and rhythms from Brazil and has taken that musical path.

Shawn studied acting, music and singing in New York attending schools such as The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, The Singers Forum, The Merkin School of Music, studying with jazz instructors Amy London, Tardo Hammer and Roni Ben-Hur, Hunter College and Juilliard. She studied privately with Nova Thomas.
